Why don't Malaysians appreciate their own heroes?
Why indeed?
I mean, look at them Brits and their King Arthur and Knights of the Round Tables, their Robin Hoods and their Merlins. Them Middle-Easterners with their Saladins, Ali Bin Abu Thalibs and Umar Bin Khattab. Those Aussies with their Ned Kelly and so fourth. See, most countries love and respect their heroes.
But us?
Ohohohoho...ye be jokin' righto, mate?
I mean, when was the last time you saw a ten-year-old reading Hikayat Hang Tuah ? How about a discussion over the duel between him and his closest friend, which had sparked a Malaysiana debate for years now? Tun Ali Perak or Mat Salleh (No, NOT our term for the Englishmen, thank you very much)?
Anyone? Anyone at all?

No, I mean it this time. Welcome one and all to the (as yet to begin) website of our little project. We mean to enlighten you with a revisioning of them Malaysian heroes; The ones with the krises and archaic language, the ones with them independence flags....aw heck...all of them if we can..
